Your Ultimate Wedding Beauty Timeline: What to Book & When

Planning a wedding is a whirlwind, isn’t it? I remember it well. One minute you’re choosing a venue, the next you’re knee-deep in dress try-ons and wondering when on earth you’re supposed to book your makeup artist, hair stylist, DJ, flowers. The list goes on. If you’re aiming for a calm, well-prepared wedding morning (and who isn’t?), a little planning goes a long way.

Here’s your easy, no-nonsense timeline to help you feel organised, confident, and glowing.

Secure Your Key Suppliers 12–18 Months Before the Wedding

If you’re planning a 2026 or 2027 wedding, this is the perfect time to lock things in. Bridal makeup artists get booked up incredibly fast - especially for peak summer Saturdays - so securing your date early is the safest way to avoid any last-minute panic.

Book in now if you can:

  • Your makeup artist (hey!)

  • Hair stylist

  • Evening reception additions (e.g. second look or touch-up services)

Why book so early?
It guarantees your date, gives you a solid point of contact for beauty advice, and takes one major thing off your plate before the busy months kick in.

Book Your Bridal Trial - 3–6 Months Before

This is one of my favourite parts of the whole journey. Your trial is where we create your personalised bridal look, refine colours and style, and make sure everything feels comfortable and true to you.

At your trial we’ll:

  • Chat through your theme, dress, and styling

  • Explore tones that complement your skin and features

  • Test longevity so you know your makeup will last all day

  • Photograph the final look so you can see how it sits on camera

Tip: Book a dress fitting, meal out, or engagement shoot after your trial — it’s the perfect chance to see how the makeup wears.

Final Beauty Prep - 1–2 Months Before

Now it’s time to get those beauty bookings locked in.

Brows & Lashes

Whether you’re into lash lifts, brow shaping, or keeping things natural, now’s when you want to tidy things up with plenty of time to settle.

Hair & Makeup Schedule

Now it’s time to polish timelines and plan your morning. I’ll create a calm, structured plan for your wedding morning so everyone knows when they’re in the chair. This is the secret to avoiding last-minute rushes and allowing you to enjoy the moment.

Hydrate & Rest - 1 Week Before

Your job this week is simple: take care of yourself.

  • Drink lots of water

  • Stick to skincare products you already know

  • Avoid last-minute tanning experiments or brand-new skincare

  • Get some proper sleep (easier said than done, I know!)

If your skin is hydrated and happy, your makeup will sit beautifully.

The Day Before: The Calm Before the Glam

  • Lay out your accessories, touch-up bag, and robe.

  • Wash your hair if your stylist recommends it.

  • Enjoy a quiet evening and try to get an early night.

  • The excitement is about to begin…!

Wedding Morning: Your Beauty Team Has You Covered

This is where you get to relax. I’ll arrive with everything we need, ready to create your look and keep things running smoothly. A peaceful, well-timed morning sets the tone for your whole day and you deserve to feel calm, confident, and completely looked after.
